The Go Set have been likened to many of their musical influenes, from punk bands such as Rancid, The Clash and Green Day, to the strong Celtic and Folk undertones that put them in the same category as bands like the Dropkick Murphys, and even more acoustic versions such as Frank Turner, or fellow Englishman Billy Bragg. They combine traditional folk instruments such as bagpipes, accordian, and fiddle, with distorted guitars and a punk rock attitude, traversing the line between folk music, punk rock, and acoustic protest songs. Singer/songwriter Justin Keenan often cited Flogging Molly, Shane McGowan, the Pogues, and even gypsy infusions of Gogol Bordello alongside these comparisons too.
