this band's legacy deserves a firm place in musical history of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. stellar, uncompromising songwriting of the highest order by TWO first rate writers. go-betweens fans understand this completely. robert is a gentleman; met him in brooklyn at southpaw which may hve been the band's last ever USA show.

There was a set up in Sydney,begun in the late 1800s by Freemasons of the Blue Lodge, a 2 tier set up,one to control the whores and riff raff of the King's Cross,the other to oversee in such wise as to make control possible.One expects it still goes on today,without so much of the Moral Overlay of the Degree Lectures,but every bit as controlled as the NSW Police Detective I surveyed one day,who took cocaine and whore's money,then went away to sleep as a heroin hit bid bye to another boring day.

@gollymutt Not sure that I agree with you there. Darlinghurst in the late 70s / early 80s was a pretty specific scene, like Haight-Ashbury must have been during the flower power era, I guess.

this is a song about the best and one of the worst moments of my life, almost happend in same place. my own 'darlinghurst' if that was a place. the best moments ever, the best people I ever met. the worst heartbreakes, the worst misunderstandings, and now? I'm gonna go to Caracaas, you know, I'm just gonna have to.this is one of the songs of my life.

With this album, they had once again hit their stride. Had Grant lived, this band may have reached heights that few bands could even dream of. Their legacy though is without doubt among the very best bands of the last 40+ years. Thank you Robert, Grant and all your wonderful band members. You have enriched many lives.
