A white moon appearsLike a hole in the sky,The mangroves go quiet. In la Brisa de la PalmaA teenage RasputinTakes the sting from a gin,"When a woman learns to walkShe's not dependent anymoreA line front her letter May 24And out on the bayThe current is strongA boat can go lost. But I didn't know someoneCould be so lonesomeDidn't know a heartCould be tied upAnd held for ransom.Until you take your shoesAnd go outside, stride over stride.Walk to that tide becauseThe door is open wide.Turned the fan offAnd went for a walkBy the lights down on Shield Street. The birds in the treesOpen their wings ...He goes home again. He dreams resistance,They talk commitment,Things change over long distance.Took the shirt off his backThe eyes from his headAnd left him for dead. But I didn't know someoneCould be so lonesomeDidn't know a heartCould be tied upAnd held for ransom.Until you take your shoesAnd go outside, stride over stride,Walk to that tide becauseThe door is open wide.Little lies, they'll take your pride.Until you take your shoesAnd go outside. stride over stride,Walk to that tide becauseThe door is open wide.Stride over strideWalk to that tide.Bye, Bye Pride.Because the door is open wide. The door is always open wide. The door is always open wide...

Far too few oboes in "rock". Beautiful.

Having discovered a bunch of lumpenkurler body doubling murderers in the whereabouts of mine abode, whose excuse by way of declaration was, "When we got back from Europe, we thought we would use what we had learnt there." (what!? how to establish concentration camps and divide a nation of egalite, fraternite, liberte against itself?!), to see Australians having to wave little flags (like we don't know we're Australian) is markedly poignant. Tres triste.

Deserves a "Love" marker instead of merely "Like".

A deep loss. Thank you for these gorgeous songs, quirky and harmonious, sad and happy, euphoric and real. My heart soars everytime I hear these songs. Bless.

I never can't finish this song without crying. And this has been so for the last 20 years...why is that? it is joyfull... maybe we are not used to so much hapiness, that's all, that's why it touches deep in the heart somewhere we are not used to be.

I guess for non Australian people (and for those for which English it is not our native language) it is hard to understand the true meaning behind Bye Bye Pride lyrics, if anyone is willing to let me know please do not hesitate, I love so much this song and the Go Betweens that it is a pity not to fully understand the lyrics and the story behind them!
