My first gig was these guys at Bournenouth Winter Gardens or Pavillion in spring 75 i think. Didn't see anothe live band till Rush played Southampton Gaumont in 1980 !

Has someone covered this? Sampled the goodbye my love part? I was probably about 3 or 4 when it came out yet it sounds so familiar. Very good song. Would have loved to see them live with 2 drummers. Who was the first band/artist to use 2 drummers in this way. Fucking brilliant idea.

Were they already formed before Gary Glitter joined them, or were they formed specifically as his backing group? Vile as he is, Gary Glitter had the stage presence; but from a purely music point of view the success came from the band. After all, the breakthrough single RR Part 2 had barely any vocals at all, and the creative part of the songwriting came from Mike Leander, so they could easily have done it without Glitter.
