One of the best albums this year. I was sitting on it for a while and, Christ, I'm regretting just getting it a couple months back.Just as great as ... Like Clockwork and Overgrown and, in my opinion, way better than AM.

For starters, I'm not really a Flaming Lips fan. I went to see them in Boston because Tame Impala was opening for them (Tame Impala was unbelievably good by the way).I have never seen any performance as compelling and moving as when they did this song live. Between how loud it was (and still clear), the lights coming from the bottom of the doll and across and up the stage, and the assault of strobe lights and confetti cannons. It was honestly one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.They are a band you either love or don't like. And then you're gonna like or dislike each album, and then you're gonna love or hate each song on the album. They do what they want and they're always trying to do something different. At the very least you need to give them credit for that, regardless if you like the way it sounds or not.I have a saying I use with a good friend of mine. There's only two things that mater when it comes to music. What comes out of the right speaker and what comes out of the left. If you don't like it, you just don't like it, But I don't think a band like the Flaming Lips with their ability, talent and intellect can really "miss the mark".

I like them...I like noisy elements as well...They are evolving and taking chances. They are still melodic...the higher key vocals give it a light quality. it balances the dissonance.

its one album. its not like the flaming lips are gonna remain in this style of music from now on. if you havent noticed, a lot of their albums have all taken on different styles and are all different in their own way. you just need to calm down.

Ahead of it's time? Please. That's such a cop out excuse for when a band completely misses the mark. I highly doubt you feel sorry for me. What a condescending thing to say. I feel sorry that you had to subject yourself to this forgettable album and then felt compelled to defend it to no avail.

What? All of their "good" albums were immediate hits. "The Terror" is one of the worst albums by a once-great band I have ever heard. It infuriates me that they thought ANYONE would be entertained by it. It is ambient, unfocused garbage. And I used to love this band.
