Fifty years ago, this made its debut on the Silver Dollar Survey at No. 40 on WLS in Chicago. It was originally designed as the B-side of "If You Don't Come Back", but that side never charted while this made it to No. 71 on Billboard, with Rudy Lewis singing lead.

One of my favorite Drifters somgs. It is relevant to today's socio-econmic milieu. Thanks for posting this rare gem.

Actually, "Rat Race" was the A-side, and the side that charted (# 71 pop). Social commentary at its best. So intense. The part from "When I see my woman standing there" until the end sends shivers down my spine.
