Aside from a few legitimately great mainstream punk bands like Green Day, Rancid, Husker Du, The Clash and The Ramones, there are really no good punk bands in the mainstream. Thank God The Descendents managed to stay out of the majors for the entirety of their career. They're just as powerful-sounding as ever.
