Typical colorblind bullshit. To not recognize the race subject is ultimately to not be racist? As very real institutional & individual acts of racism continue on a daily basis, your solution to this problem is to sweep it under the rug and wish it away? Such an attitude only serves to benefit the racially dominant group of a given society since they are the only ones who have nothing to lose by erasing any discussion of racism.

Stop with the whole everything was better before, crime has been on a steady decline since the 50s in almost every country in the western world. Read a history of violence by Steven Pinker and you can get a more clear picture of how things really where in the past. And people certainly did not have more respect for each other in a time when blacks where lynched and criminals where killed without trial.

I see the rest of their songs as anti racist as it doesn't bother to recognize or raise the topic of "race" at all. song that raises the subject of race, whether racist or not, only serves to emphasize the fact that there are different races and raises the awareness of these differences. To not recognize or give attention to the race subject is ultimately to not be racist.

This is one of my favorite songs. Its a redux I think of a tune from the past, I just can't figure out which one. I love this this song though. Songs these days don't use enough simple classic cord progressions which I think this song does.

@javierahumada Thank goodness we don't live back in those terrible days when crime was minimal,welfare wasn't a matter of "right", your children could ride the bus downtown without being assaulted or molested, people had to work for their money, there was a low rate of unwed mothers, people had respect for authority and each other. Yes, isn't it wonderful we live in modern times where the old days are gone.
