I actually like Cut too....This album WOULD be a greatest ever for most good bands I know, and was definitely a classic in the 90s. This album also had Apart on it, the best song EVER!!

As much as everyone thinks this is about social anxiety I always took this as a "going out for the umpteenth time" type thing. Everything becomes autopilot- ordering a drink, sitting or standing in a strategic spot, going out for a smoke, coming back in to the same drunken people. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, unless done to excess. I always took the tone of this song as "I'm having fun, but why do we do this same thing all the time? Is there nothing else to do?" Edit: And the "I promise in an hour we will honestly go" & "why don't I get you another..." lines as trying to get someone who is an 'outsider' to the scene and/or group of regulars you go with to come along and try and have a good time, while you yourself, silently question the whole thing in tandem. Not necessarily my favorite Cure album, but one of my favorite songs for sure.

Back in '92 when i first bought this album me being only 11 years old, hearing this opening song i knew this album would be something special and i was right! Wish is one of the best albums of '90s of any genre of music!
