after suffering a mental breakdown some 10 years ago things around me have rarely felt "real" in the way i remember how they used to feel. one of the few things that somehow attaches me back to reality and that old feeling for a moment is the chorus of this song. i only discovered this song last year so it's not due to some familiarity/nostalgia effect -- there must be something in the way the music is constructed that penetrates my fucked up brain like an electric shock in electroconvulsive therapy.

Researching The Chameleons, it seems they were never that popular. I wish I could let them know how nearly 30 years after recording their first album, they would prevent one insignificant guy from hanging himself.If only Ian Curtis could've kicked around for long enough.

@Met0lz I agree with your comment. Anyway, I think, as many of the bands I haven't been able to stop listening during these 20 years, the reason they never got the recognition was because they did what they felt and how they wanted, not for the money, neither for fame. But that's why after 20 years and hundreds of thousands of times we've listened them we still shiver. Cos they have something else, something commercial music won't ever reach. The pity is that society is dumb and likes easy shit.
