This is a pre-recorded backing track with live vocals. Unfortunately Gene & David's mics are mixed low, so we don't quite get the full "Byrds Splendor" as far as the harmonies go.
Listen to how the tape slows down during Crosby's close-up.
Busted!! :-)
This and the Sullivan shows are the only colour footage that I know of from the "Original 5".
Michael Landon being the host on this October evening, he was riding high on "Bonanza" at the time.

I grew up in sixties and early seventies. I remember when Mr. Tambourine Man came out in '65. Back then The Byrds were the coolest thing going and as a sixteen year old high school teen, Roger McGuinn was the coolest dude to ever walk in shoe leather. I bought every album The Byrds put out.
