From the band's 4th and final appearance on "Shiv....", lip synching the Gene Clark classic, "Set You Free This Time".
Gene would be gone in less than 3 months, although he joined the band onstage sporadically toward the end of 1966.
Ok, ok; this is included in The Byrds box set, but here we have Gene Weed's Shivaree commentary!!

Lennon never wore "granny glasses." It's long been said the reason he wore the round glasses were because they were the very cheapest glasses that Britain's National Health Service offered. It wasn't a style thing, it was a cheap thing.11 years назад

A beautiful song. One of Gene's best lyrics.Dylanesque . At various times Crosby,McGuinn,Hillman and Gram all wrote brilliant songs but I reckon Gene was the best. American cosmic music before Gram. Beautiful.11 years назад

"Set You Free This Time" is sheer brilliance. It got radio play here in Los Angeles, in fact it was a big hit; so was "I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better" was another one that should have been a huge national hit. Instead, it was a B side. Tragic.13 years назад
