For some reason I cannot scroll through the earlier comments underneath, so I cannot see if this question is asked before ( I expect it is).Is Katey Sagal the Harlette in the orange dress? I read somewhere Katey was a Harlette in Bette's shows in the mid/ late 70's and the singer in the middle looks a lot like her.

Used to have this album and loved her version of this song. It was much more enjoyable to listen to the music than to have to look at her in all her ridiculousness on stage. I recommend her recorded version of this song. This video, not so much.

@BusterLovesBette This was waaay before the movies (even The Rose, I think) , 'From a Distance' and 'Wind Beneath My Wings'...this woman is amazing in concert. "Back in the day," she worked the stage up and down, in constant motion, stopping occassionally to tell a filthy joke through the vessel of her alter-ego, "Soph". If you think this is manic, you should check out anything from "Live at Last". You won't regret it...

At the beginning of the song, when she says, "salt peter, salt peter," she's doing a riff on "Salt Peanuts," by John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie, who also wrote the jazz standard, "Night in Tunisia."
