The longest version of 'You Know My Name' I found, coupled with more or less rare footage from the Beatles. Recorded while 'Sgt. Pepper', released in 1970. After McCartney, Evans and Lennon added some extra vocals in 1969, Lennon planed to release (with '...Mary Jane') it as a Plastic Ono single (heavily edited by himself), but the other Beatles prevented it. Even on Anthology there are some parts of the song missing.

With their many records, this could have the title mentioned most in a song record! Great stuff.

The Beatles were an extremely inspired band. No band has even come close to them, its like nature set them apart so we would pay closer attention to what they are saying. Google *Truth Contest* and check out the Beatles section starting on page 59.

This was a B side of I believe, "Let it Be"; yet I never bought singles much, instead I preferred albums. So after, thanks to my mother getting me "Rubber Soul" in the spring of '66 upon my response to her offering to get my younger sister and I an Easter Bunny to which I said I'm too old for that I'd prefer a Beatles record (and later some other albums of other bands as well), skipping "Revolver" I got all of the rest of their albums and "Imagine", "Ram", & "All Things Must Pass" when they first came out.Anyway when this was out, since it wasn't on the album, I'd run across the highway in Corvallis, Or. to the closest place with a jukebox, a Shakey's Pizza Parlor to play this often, since it always cracked my up!Also I hate to brag, but thank God I was lucky enough to have seen George live when I was 15 near L.A., Ring on his first two tours and Paul 7 times starting with Wings, I most certainly would have gone to see John but obviously he only played in New York although I passed through there once when he was still alive the year before played; oh well, God bless him he was as you all know, a man of peace!AugySan Diego

John Lennon wanted to use this song as his first Plastic Ono Band release. The rest of the Beatles said NO.
