Mr Sixties Rock
Ringo was the best drummer in the Beatles. John got it wrong.

Ringos drumming seems to be so on point for this particular concert. Amazing considering he probably couldn't hear anything outside of a roar of screams. His fills during the lead section are outstanding. For a split second you can even see John stare at Ringo in amazement. And john was apparently not easily impressed and could be cruel and harsh towards Richie. One story goes that during the recording of the White Album, john told ringo all he was good for was answering the phone. Obviously not true .... But the point being, Ringo is one, IF NOT, the best!!!!

so all this nonsense that they couldn't hear themselves sing for the noise coming from the audience is just that, nonsense. i see that George realized that his mike was dead so he moved over to John's mike to continue singing. doesn't look like he wasn't able to hear himself sing now, does it? aren't i a picky pricky, eh? :))

Second rate drummer my ass! Anybody who watches this and says Ringo wasn't that good needs to have their eyes checked or head examined. If you're an aspiring drummer and want to know how to be deep in the pocket and propel a song into an enthusiastic romp, this is a perfect example.
