Playing along to "I Feel Fine" with a 1963 Gretsch Tennessean (strings: Thomastik Infeld 11 gauge flatwounds, Jazz Swing 11s) through a 1998 Vox AC30 TBX. No pedals were used in the making of this video.

Audio was taken with a Shure SM58 mic pointed directly at the AC30, and run from an XLR to 1/4" male plug into a 1/4" to 1/8" Monster Cable adapter into my Macbook. Video was taken with a Sony DSC-H55 digital camera.

George IS reported to have adopted the plain "G" very early in their "Club-Hopping" days, when they were like "Sponges" and would pick up on not only one of their "heroes" using the plain "G", but travelling together across town to be shown that "magic" "B7th" chord, ah, those were the days my friend! They are great. I still have these same strings on my '63 Tennessean right now, after almost 1.5 years. I am getting ready to change them soon. I'm going to stick with the .011 gauge set, but I might try a plain 3rd/G string instead of a wound 3rd/G, because I think George had a plain G for the songs on "Beatles for Sale." Since "I Feel Fine" was recorded during the October 1964 "Beatles for Sale" sessions, eventually becoming the single, I think the plain G might be a good experiment.

How are those strings?

thomastiks are the one i havent tried yet.. i have found daddario to be the most affordable and overall value is decent. plus i like tens and thats a harder gauge to come by. i tried pyramids, but 30 dollars for one pack of strings is a bit much

I really love the Thomastiks. I like both Pyramids and Thomastiks for sound, but Thomastiks have a better feel to me.
