this and Not Guilty are the 2 George songs that theres simply NO reason they shouldn't have recorded. Instead "I, Me Mine" and "For You Blue" somehow end up as final products over this.

The Let It Be Sessions were 31 days of writing and learning new songs...there's over 100 hours of audio. Was this particular recording on Day 1 or Day 31? If the band's learning the song for the very first time it's understandable that the tune is going to sound like crap. And if Lennon was on a blast of heroin and McCartney was just beingf asshole, then yeah, piss on them. But this was a band BREAKING UP....that they were able to record 'Abbey Road' so soon AFTER these sessions is a miracle. Thankfully, "All Things Must Pass" was better served as a Harrison solo track

distressing to hear. the greatest band in the world muffing up one the greatest songs they ever had at their disposal. no wonder harrison was so pissed off around this time. the only thing that's really on point about this version (apart from the writer) is ringo's brilliant drumming. always brilliant drumming! it's really hard for me to say this: but lennon and macca are acting like a right pair of tits here. and - before you say 'don't listen to it, then' - i'm such a fucking completest about the fabs that i feel i have to listen to everything at least once! but once was enough in this case...

This is a great song, I thing a version close the style of the rough demo of this song would have been greater. The choruses with the with the Harrison-Lennon-McCartney harmony, like after each verse the chorus would get this would get like louder, more mixed/diverse and ending abruptly-

George was just not as good! This must have been a miserable session

This is interesting as a work in progress, but I'm glad the Beatles left it alone so George could give it a proper treatment as a solo work. Watch it on the Concert for George to see Paul and the rest of George's friends perform it with the respect it deserves. Great tune and message.

This is not at all like the beautiful arrangement it would eventually be recorded as. Which is funny cause it is such a simple beautiful song that GH must have really come in with no idea how to record it for J and P to reject it so. They should be kicking themselves once they heard the final product!

Perhaps it turned out for the best as I love the ATMP album version but this song should have easily made it on Let it Be or Abbey Road , if it had got the full Beatles production job it would have been fantastic!

There's a lot of comments and I am reading all of it right now.. All I can say we are still affected about the past to our favorite band. And it really shows here that we really appreciate George. For my opinion, mostly of the Beatles songs became great because of George artistic tune accompaniment. And at late part he began showing how more great he is...

Harrison wrote "Something" and "Here Comes The Sun", arguably the two best songs on their final album ever recorded, "Abbey Road." When it comes down to it, The Beatles all really both liked and respected one another. Joking around and having fun in rehearsals was very common for The Beatles. Listen to any of their rehearsals playing and singing Paul's, John's, George's, and/or Ringo's songs. They just loved having fun together making music.

I see & read all of these expert pronouncements about how on this ONE take, so much is gleaned. John & Paul were not trying, jealous, didn't care, could go on infinitely about the reasons why because of those 2 this track (based upon this 1 take) was shot down as a Beatles' tune. It wasn't unusual 4 them to do 50 or more takes of of a track & goofing about & not going out 100% on "some" of them was inevitable. Happened ALL the time with John & Paul's songs. ALL of their songs, in fact..The Beatles would've probably sounded great doing this, then again, maybe not. George did a pretty damned good job of it himself a bit later & as 4 disrespect, "Something" got the single release on Abbey Road hands down & I'm not sure it was even the best tune on that album. John & Paul immediately decided it would be the single. As someone said, we CAN'T be in Macca's orJohn's head during the creative process, but they they gave George 100 & 10 % on "For You Blue", (on this supposedly non-constructive , full of ill-will & totally negative "Get Back" session). So go figure. It all worked out exactly as it was supposed to, I think. While I admit "Get Back" sessions weren't perfect by any means , it's all just a matter of perspective, (imo) anyways. Thanks.. .

Half assed effort from John and Paul and 'Octopus' Garden' style cheesy drumming form Ringo. They butchered a great song.
