A great band ,i got into them through the 2tone/ska revival 79,but as many of the bands split or moved into different directions ,i still like the This bands stuff, should have been a lot lot bigger than they was .

His name is Lionel Martin, he performed using the name "Saxa". He was born in Jamaica & had played with Prince Buster & Desmond Decker & other Ska, & Blue-beat bands in the 60's & 70's. He is lovely man who liked his rum & his music, he's now retired & lives in Birmingham England.

My deck didn't have auto stylus lift off, I used to listen to this album in bed with headphones on, fall asleep and wore the click off at the end of the tracks - bliss to hear these again, the layers of sound and production is immense. Thank you for posting this and others.

"Wha'ppen" was HUGELY underrated, but it was my all time favorite English Beat album. I wore it out in the early 80's.
