'Today' was the transitional album for The Beach Boys; gone are the candystriped button shirts. Surfing and hotrods are not as important. Now they are college guys in grownup attire. A big coming of age within the songs composition, retaining but improving the harmony's structures. Romance takes the center stage with a still innocent feeling. The boys were growing up and in "Please Let Me Wonder" they became men.....The BeachBoy"s became the best American band of all time......TheRockinProfessor2015

Take a listen to Unsurpassed masters volume 7, for the track by track lay down of this one. It is incredible how Brian overdubbed the song to perfection. It starts out a good song and ends up superb. Probably the best cut from Today...
