Very nice version, but the best I've ever heard was by The Four Aces who released their version about 1955, with orchestrations by Jack Pleis.

at the time of the the beatles when i was a small boy, even my granny thought the bachelors were 'square' . part of the 'british invasion' ; that's hilarious!

@TheLimePopsicle Yeah, that's my era. I don't listen to what they call country today. All my listening these days is pop, rock, doo-wop or C&W golden oldies. I was very happy to discover You Tube about a year and a half ago, and I really appreciate posters and channel masters such as you putting up this good music for all to enjoy. Thanks for what you're doing, and keep up the good work. Happy 2011. John

@FoxRunMan They only got lumped in with the Invasion because of the time they came along and how they dressed I suppose, and the fact that they were from overseas. Country and Western used to be some really great music back in the '50's, '60's and '70's.

@TheLimePopsicle I never thought of The Bachelors as being part of the British Invasion. I was a big fan of the Beatles' early work, but quit listening and went over to C&W when music in the R&R world began to celebrate the drug culture. I'd rather be a roper than a doper. LOL

@FoxRunMan I agree completely with you! It's telling that the Bachelors are my favorite group of the British invasion even though they are Irish and only happened to come along at the same time. And yes, I like them much better than the Beatles and their ilk. The Hollies were really good though because they had great harmonies. I love older music with strong melodies and singing though.

These guys have such a great sound!!! In my opinion, they didn't get the recognition and commercial success they deserved. I think they had unfortunate timing, coming into the US music scene with this retro, harmonic sound while the British invasion and drug-influenced music was the prevailing trend.

Best version of this song was by the Four Aces, on their album Shufflin' Along.
