Thank you Graham for the inspiring tutorials, they are really helpful for a nOOb home recorder :) Been watching them several times. It's actually more useful to come back to them after I have progressed to more "advanced stuff" (later lessons), because when it's repeated, I actually recognize some of the things you do/present, that I didn't understand when watching it the first time...If that makes any sense :)God bless!!(Didn't realize you where a christian until I watched one of the tut's yesterday and you where singing worship songs...cool :) )

Grant, what gauge of guitar pick do you use to record acoustic guitar rhythm tracks? Thin, medium, or thick? What brand? You get great tones and I know the pick makes a huge difference in the acoustic guitar's tone when recording.

Are you a self taught musician or was you college-trained by going through some music degree program? You've got a lot of talent there. By the way, what program lets you use the typing method of playing keyboard? That was really neat how you did that and I've never heard of doing that before. Keep up the good work, man.

My cousin, a good musician, let me use one of his AKG D5 mics and man that mic is even stronger and better sounding than my SM58 I used to own. Don't get me wrong, the SM58 is a really decent mic and world famous, but the D5 is stronger and brings my voice out better. I would like to get a condenser mic sometime because I've been recorded on a basic Condensor and it did have a really decent sound quality and most studios use them (Of course, some studios use mics that cost even thousands of dollars). But a condenser in the 100 to 200 buck price range would suffice for demos I think. Like you said, yours is 79 bucks, which if it sounds decently isn't bad.

I really like the idea of learning to record multi tracks and don't know how yet but I've written many songs and a few of them are gospel songs. I don't have a Mac computer and I've heard that the Macs are the only ones that have Garage Band capability. My computer is a PC and I'm wondering what is a decent not-to-expensive recording software for a PC? I've tried Audacity but every time I tried to retrieve my single track recordings there would pop up a box saying that I couldn't retrieve the song or songs. I didn't know what to do to get my recordings saved onto a CD so I could get them copyrighted and send to a publisher. By the way, I have an M-AUDIO Interface and a pair of small sized ALESIS monitor speakers, so all I need is a software that's easy to use and don't cost a whole lot so I can get going on some song demos

I just spent 258$ on a PreSonus AudioBox 22VSL, MIDI Cable, Pop Filter, and stand. I got most of my mics from friends and off Craigslist for fairly cheap over the years. Heck ask around sometimes people will basically give equipment away if they know it's gonna be used.

Thanks Graham, the videos are great. Made the start today with a need to do voice overs for screen recorded videos, and elearning sessions. I've started with the Scarlett 2i4, a basic dynamic mic, the Senheiser HD201 headphones, trying Abelsoft Live, on the list for Pro tools free, and I'll try others. A couple of sound absorbing screens are next, and the Rode NT1-a mic kit is in the mail. Screencast-o-matic, and Camtasia for the video recording, along with the Nikon for stills and video. Lots of learning to come for me. It's exciting and amazing just how much information is on the net. Thanks again :)
