Ted Russell and His Orch., with Vocal refrain - I Wished On The Moon (Music Ralph Rainger, Lyrics Dorothy Parker) from: „The Big Broadcast Of 1936", Champion 1936
---------------------------------
NOTE: I simply know nothing about Ted Russell's band... The side presents us a masterly performance of this jazz --standard, composed in 1936 by Ralph Rainger for Paramount Pictures' „The Big Broadcast Of 1936". Best kown versions are by Billie Holiday and Bing Crosby (who features it in the original movie).
In the clip also presented are paintings of two unusual English Victorian-era painters: Edward Robert Hughes and John Atkinson Grimshaw (The first being a member of the Preraphaelites' club in London).
