For those who are wondering about D.-Yankees. About 10 yrs. ago, Ted gave an interview to a Detroit newspaper. In the article, he said that the D.-Yankees had made an entire album ( I think it was late '90's-early 2000's). But after they were done with it, they all hated the way it sounded. The mastering, sound, and the quality of the songs were all lacking he said. It just wasn't up to band standards. So they never released it. But they need to do 1 more album and tour if they can get all together for one year and commit to it. They are all getting up there in age.

Great to see that Ted finally gave in and let Derek St. Holmes sing lead again. I met Derek in Nashville at Guitar Center. We both talked about being from Michigan. He lives in Nashville now. We talked for several minutes. He was a very cool dude. He came in and nobody else recognized him. I said "DEREK" - like he was my buddy from down the street (LOL)!! It was great. I told him his vocals on "Stranglehold" and "Hey Baby" were very influential to me hearing them on Detroit radio growing up. It's sad that a lot of people don't know that Ted DID NOT sing lead on 'Stranglehold" - DEREK DID! Ted does do the little speaking part at the end though -..."sometimes you want to get high...sometimes you want to get low..etc." They had their differences through the years, but a couple yrs. ago, Ted got him back into the band. Probably because Ted is getting close to 68 yrs. old, he's feeling nostalgic. But Derek is an original member, and should have actively been in the band 10-15 yrs. ago. They did make an album in 1994 -"Spirit of the Wild" - that just plain Rocks! Derek sang lead on many cuts on that album.
