in terms of technique, skill, stamina - Taylor is a monster. Dave not so much. I have drum students who are learning since 3 years who can play any song dave grohl has ever played. Taylor is in a different league.

There are so many great drummers all with their own style, I don't think it's possible to say one is the best. For my personal taste I do love Dave Grohl's drumming. I think Taylor was the perfect fit and match for Dave and the Foo Fighters. I think Taylor has the perfect skills to match Dave and play the way Dave wants the drums to sound like. Obviously he does or Dave would have got a new drummer.

Saw Taylor play with Alanis in Seoul, South Korea in 1996. I loved his style then, and love it now. Though back then, he took a lot more liberty in his drumming with Alanis and it showed. It was a great show.

Whether the FF stuff is pretty simplistic and over exsposed or not, the guy is a truly good drummer. He learned from the listening to Copeland, Peart and Taylor etc.. get it right.
