I don't understand all the negative comments on this vid.. A lot of them don't make sense and aren't even drummers criticizing him there just random people... He did a really good job.. FFS people need to calm down and realize not every drummer in the world is a Neil Pert...

Who cares how large the toms are, the drums sound great...there's no denying that. Anyone who says otherwise is just hating.

To me - the toms sound amazing, bass drum f***king BIG. Floor toms excellent clarity and bottom. Damn I want the Starclassics

The kit looks good and it sounds good, and it's well played. Unlike a lot of vids on youtube some care has been taken with the recording quality, so all in all a good advert.

Is he playing jazz or rock? I can't tell because he's got little sissy-sized toms that are tuned really high (except for the bass drum). Back in the good 'ol '80's, hard rock and heavy metal drummers used big, deep power toms and 8" deep snares that sounded like sonic booms going off! You could 'feel' the drums being played because the shock wave would hit you right in the chest. My old maple Ludwig's would make the windows shake --- in my neighbor's house!!Those of you from my era know what I'm talking about. And let's be realistic, it doesn't matter what 'exotic' mix of woods are used in your shells. If you're trying to achieve big sound, then GO BIG. There's an old saying in the racing world that says "nothing beats cubic inches". Same goes for drums.

I think coated heads would sound much better on the toms

All you arm chair critics are a bunch of dicks! The only thing that matters is he sounds good!

perfect sizes of drums: the hyperdrive toms and the deep bass drum are what I've always loved!!! I want to get a set like this for myself by the end of the year. Good drumming too buddy!!!
