Michael Romeo is one of the best in the world without question!

Kind of raises the question - just how much better can one get as a guitarist (or any kind of instrumentalist for that matter). After listening to a few bands of this calibre with plenty more to go, it seems this question is unanswerable. I've also read trite debates about who is better than who and conclude that this is equally undecidable. All great musicians bring things to the table. I think the idea of a "Top 100" is deeply flawed. I suppose the only answer is that the "greatest" is someone who can play anything that anyone else can and more besides. Which doesn't entirely answer more ethereal concepts such as compositional beauty, melodic structure, musicality etc. etc. Personally I like them all and just admire their skills born of talent, dedication and a hell of a lot of hard work and practice.
