the way words are pronouced in singing makes a big difference. bickler pronouced them in such s way to make the song more interesting and smooth.

Hate comparisons. Original sounds is original sound. So Dave is the vocalist for this song. High on You is Jimi's sound.

Jimi Jamison was one of the premiere vocalists of his time (the 80's) and actually had his voice compared to Steve Perry's when he took over for Dave Bickler in Survivor. That's not to take anything away from Bickler, who is also an excellent singer and had a bit more "rock-edge" to his sound (which is ironic because Jamison fronted the hard rock/heavy metal band Cobra before fronting Survivor). As far as a pure vocalist goes, I'd have to give this to Jamison. As I said, they were both excellent vocalists in their prime and my liking Jamison is more a matter of opinion than anything else. Both lost a considerably amount of range as they got older, but that is natural.

The parts where the two guys are singing together is pure gold, especially around the 2:30 mark. It honestly doesn't get much better than that.
