This is actually a great tune - I'd dare to say the best one of this album! Don't pay attention to the lyrics if you wish, just listen to the music - great arrangement and instrumentation, great vocals!

Check out "OWE" (One With Everything) which is a Styx tribute band who plays a LIVE VERSION of this song which can be seen on youtube! It's the first time it was ever played live apparently and they do an amazing job with it!

THIS SONG REMINDS ME OF THE BAND TRIUMPH

This song would definitely have sexual innuendos. Not sure why some dislike it? To those who dislike, I would say move on to something you like and give them credit for what you like. Let's all stay positive.

DDY stated the Serpent album is / was their worst recording. Yes probably from a technical perspective and I am not a fan of "plexiglass" but most songs are good and I still listen to them after nearly 40 years. As a kid I wondered where the "grove" was. Now I know :)

Touché. Maybe also King Diamond.

Oh I think Jethro Tull could have written and used it, and probably did.

I think they gradually phased most of the Wooden Nickel songs out of their sets after signing with A&M. Also, i think they essentially disowned this album which is why you probably never hear it. Not sure exactly why though because this had some of their best and overall most creative material.

Oh my gawd - what a terrible song. Still, nobody else but Styx could have ever written the line "You're a wicked wench - hah!" They deserve some kind of perverse admiration for this.

I grew up with this album. Giving me goose bumps thinking about a time we had our whole lives in front of us, and now for some of us, that life is over. In memory of my youth ... "just south of man's delight".

Damn, I miss those good ol' days of the 70's.... TRUE rock musicians and songs....none of this crappy rap/hip-hop "entertainers" of today.

Les arrangements musicaux sont incroyables. La mélodie est ordinaire
