When I saw Styx play a split-bill with Yes in 2010 a Yes fan, not there for Styx, afterward described them as a "well-oiled machine" and was impressed w/ their tight, energetic, entertaining show. A band very different from Yes!They play the hits people want to hear but they don't phone it in. The show was inexpensive, so I tell people if you want to see a good rock show where a band won't take you for granted, go see Styx. Tommy sounds as good right now as in this 2006 show and in the 70s.

as much as I like Larry Gowan......the vocal harmonies of Shaw, Young, and DeYoung cant be duplicated......but man o man, Tommy Shaw still sounds as good as when I saw Styx in the Eighties.....incredible.....

Styx, I grew up with you. You were "My" band.... I trotted you our amoung my friends. A chick at a record store told me that "This rocks"...The stereo in my car in 1979 would melt a battery in an hour. So, I had 2. I know that after my friends heard Styx, they emptied the shelves at the local record stores. It thrilled me to pass along tight talent!

I was there. There was a crazy storm going on and a couple friends and I got to play glow in the dark frisbee with Styx singing Christmas carols in the background. It was very surreal!
