No, his star hasn't completely risen, but it had gone up a bit by the time he starred in Kismet: he'd already done some opera in England, then did Baz Luhrman's La Boheme in San Francisco & NY, following that with a tour across the U.S. with the Boston Pops. His star continues to rise as he makes himself knows to U.S. audiences.

@Acoontey look at the upload date -- this was 4.5 years ago. long before Les Mis. Alfie's star was still rising at this point.

@MrVampiredog When Johnny Mathis sings this he's promoting himself and his concerts. Alfie was here to promote the ENO's 'Kismet.' So he's bound to perform it as he would in the show, as 'KIsmet's' director wanted. Couldn't have done too badly. Understand there were so many requests, Parkinson's show did one of its first digital downloads for this song.
