In reply to RideMyF150. I asked the same question and sent it to StompinTom.com. The reply I got was that Tom decided to focus on the 10 provinces to shorten the songs and felt the names of most northern towns and cities were to long to properly incorporate into the song itself. Lets not forget the songs he wrote focusing on the north. Long Gone to the Yukon, My Little Eskimo, The Martin Hartwell Story and others. Keep in mind these songs were recorded in the early 1970's.
