Really sad to hear the news about Steve Strange's passing. Steve and Rusty Egan were the men at the center of the New Romantic scene that helped pave the way for Spandau Ballet, Boy George, Marilyn, Soft Cell, and Duran Duran. Steve and some of the Blitz clubbers were featured in David Bowie's marvelous Ashes to Ashes video. Steve was the face and the voice of Visage, the track 'Fade to Grey' still continues to delight us today. And while we all know the famous Bowie line ''We Can Be Heroes Just For One Day'' it was Steve's club nights that actually made it happen. God bless you Steve. You're a hero forever in my book.

Immediately you make the best tribute to Steve Strange. Well done. Scary that the heroes from the 1979-1982 golden period of Electronica start to die... This period and the corresponding Electronica subcultures must get more attention. It lasted only a couple of years, and involved only a minor part of the Western European youth, but was one of the most revolutionary, mythic and exciting movements in music and culture ever. Futuristic and Nostalgic at the same time: Kraftwerk and Numan Futurism turned into Ultravox Vienna (Mitteleuropa nostalgia) and other romantic notions. - It was a kind of micro replay of the late 18th Century: The science and technology driven Enlightenment period turning into the Romantics. Voltaire was followed by Lord Byron.
