Hearing Steve's version for the very first time....must say that it's an excellent take on the song. Interesting feel and changes. Lowell's, of course, is the best ever... any version. There are numerous other versions out there. Most just seem to play the same changes and feel with a different vocalist. I dig this one a lot! So there.

Not coke. Lowell George's drug of choice was heroin and that's what he ODed on. Crying shame. It still hacks me off 30+ years later. Roll'um easy was his song about heroin.

Two of my favorite artists of all time: Steve Earle and Lowell George. Steve really nails this one Thankfully Steve Earle survived his period of drug abuse and lost years, while cocaine did in Lowell George. Gone too soon, but never forgotten by musicians and music lovers
