I too saw Steve perform in London both matinee and evening on his last night in the role, I can never see anyone else brining more to this role pure passion purity and sex appeal and that voice ! He never failed to cry real tears singing gethsemene either completely awesome in the real sense of the word and zubin varla best judas ever what more could we ask

This is one of my top favorite versions of his Gethsemane. I'm sure he's from Heaven, chosen, blessed and loved. I could think of NOBODY else for the role of Jesus for the third film adaption of JCS to be released in 2014. This song is for him, he is for this song, ultimate perfection. Every time he sings this song he sings differently as he feels, and is totally into it, is Jesus himself when he sings this song, just amazing!! We are so forunate knowing his greatest quality.

I love Steve and his voice is OUTSTANDING!!!! I think his voice has got better and stronger over the years. If you see him singing the same in Ahoy, Holland in June 2004. His voice has improved so much. Still an amazing voice...

What's even more amazing to me is he seems to have gotten better with this song over the years, just by performing it for other events. Even after he stopped the run. The 2004 one from Holland on here is...MAGNIFICO! To say the least.

I saw this show many many times in the West End as my husband was playing the lead in another musical around the corner at the same time and I often found myself chaperoning friends and family to see this show during their visits. I never grew tired of Steve's perfomances. Coupled with Zubin as Judas and Joanna Ampil as Mary, this for me was the ultimate cast. I miss my days spent in the Lyceum watching the show. Steve you are one amazing performer. Well done on the Song for Wales too. x
