It wasn't on any of the bands 3 studio releases so it must have been the b-side of a single or maybe just a leftover track, which most bands have lying around. Obviously written by Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty together or individually. Other than your upload, the only place I've seen this song was on a cd titled "Stuck in the Middle" at Amazon. If I can make out all the lyrics I will post them here.

Sales do not determine whether a song is good or bad, but it definitely determines if a song is a hit or not. I wasn't complaining about the song--I think it's good, it's just not the Stealers Wheel when they were together as a band for a few years in the 70's.

First off, this is not Stealers Wheel with Rafferty or Egan- it is a re-recording done to cash in on the band after the "Reservoir Dogs" movie gave the group renewed interest. The info says this is one of the biggest hits of the 70's. As good a song as it is, it wasn't a hit anywhere I'm familiar with. What is "Midnight Island"?

Sheryl Crow stole her 'Soak Up The Sun' song from this Stealers Wheel song. This makes it her second theft from this band along with 'All I Wanna Do'. I hope they got some royalties or something out of it. Stealers Wheel is fantastic!
