Digitally recorded some singles I got for Christmas last year (what? yes, I actually asked 45rpm singles for Christmas, I'm a real 'single maniac' so called.... Well I don't like to be single, but at least a single has two sides to play (a cd doesn't). Found this very interesting and

rocking record of Stealers Wheel's "Everyone's agreed that everything will turn out fine"...

Most known as just "Everything will turn out fine", but this single shows that long title...

And it's actually a very different version than the one who appeared on al the albums.

As far as I know at this time this version is not available to buy on any cd album or collection. It's only on the real 45rpm single. It sounds a bit Beatles-like; maybe that's a reason why it has been changed for the Stealers Wheel album... But actually this version convinces me more that "everything will turn out fine" than the most known "real" version.

Sounds great & I have the 45 myself & the lp version is completely different.. Not a big hit for them but still a great song full of bass & more bass! Liked it the 1st time I heard it and has a bit of a Beatles tang to it.

I don't know what's crappy at 2.30.. Sounds all fine to me... Maybe it's my record player, don't know.

Now seems like everyone's agreed that everything will turn out fine, that "Everyone's agreed that everything will turn out fine" will turn out more fine in this version...... Congrats mates. ;)

Ours were mono tho. Depending on what country you live in, makes the difference what pressing you have. I think I may have stated that in an earlier post, lol.

Thanks for posting this incredible song. I must have listened to it as much or probably more than any other song back in 1973 (I think it was in 73). Great rhythm and vocals which Stealers Wheel was all about. I miss these kinds of songs!!!!!!

@ amyath, indeed this is a dutch copy, or as it says on the label; "made in holland'. Yes, I know this Scottish accent is quite funny. In some ways it comes a bit close to the dialect we speak over here in the south of the Netherlands, I watched a lot of youtube stuff about Gerry Rafferty after his passing, and I even have been quite close to some Scottish people during a holiday. If I speak English now I sometimes use Scottish accents by accident... Feels quite natural to me to speak that way

Holland ?

Scottish singers must pronounce it "Everythin". lol. Listen to "High & Dry" from City To City. It's even more funny, "Every We", Every De". We used to make fun of that about his singing in high school. Great songs like these will always be the best IMO.

Is this a Canadian copy ? The only brown label U.S. copy's I've found were mono. Only the white promo is known to exist in stereo. I have the promo stereo/mono copy in near mint condition. This is surprising to see brown label stock copy in stereo. I'll have to check into this.

In the early Seventies, I was working as a truckstop waitress, saving to go back to college to finish my BA. One of my goals was to turn a good share of the jukebox to the rock side, which I succeeded in doing. The perk was that the jukebox guy let me have my favorites when it was time to change! So, I have this, "Stuck in the Middle WIth You" and a lot of other greats, such as "Follow Your Daughter Home"; they're in a special box I've treasured throughout the decades. I still love all of them.
