I love the song and also remember when it came out as a child.. Mickey definitely belongs up there with Steve Perry and the other greats of his time.. I also didn't realize Jake "The Snake" Roberts was the drummer for the band.. lol

Mickey Thomas really was a good lead singer. Grace Slick wasn't featured as much when they started playing more of the synth/pop no balls type of music. Mickey sold that band out. Jefferson Starship was awesome but Starship, even though I liked them, was all about electronic bass lines, drum machines, synthesizers to the max and some lead guitar tossed in there to still give it a "rock band" appearance. Knee Deep in the Hoopla and No Protection was it for them. All the original members had quit because of the bands direction in music has so drastically changed. Then Mickey Thomas was sued for the Starship name because he wanted to keep touring. I saw the "new Starship featuring Mickey Thomas" live and it was horrible. The musicians he got to play with him were really bad. I mean really bad. I guess when Donny Baldwin hit Mickey in the face he didn't hit him hard enough!!
