The original band made it to London. They played The Lyceum in The Strand. It was a dream come true for me. I'd been hugely impressed by the 'Uncle Jack' single. The 'B' side of which (here in the UK) was 'Mechanical World', without doubt the weirdest 'B' side I'd heard up to that point, it was a brave choice considering the number of other candidates on the first album! I did a 300 mile round trip to catch them! I wasn't disappointed. We wandered in and found the stage covered in flight cases and thought Shit. They're gonna be ages setting up yet? Five minutes later the spacey whine of the intro to 'All The Same' started up and the stage began to revolve and suddenly there they were! Huge Fender Amps everywhere, great lights and Mark Andes dressed in what looked like a frock with a sash round him that said, Miss California! I thought to myself, its gonna be one of THOSE nights. And indeed it was! Of all the bands I got to see back in the day, Spirit were unbelievable in a concert situation. Accomplished, Professional, innovative, adventurous and so damn 'tight' they could peel oranges in their pockets with boxing gloves on! The first four albums are all essential listening!

This is probably my favorite Spirit song.I don't mean to be too picky but the 'sky's' in the lyrics probably should be 'skies'.

Agree w/Straka.An underrated CLASSIC LP from the 70's.Best cut on the LP?Perhaps.It's got lots of competition from Nature's Way. And then of course Animal Zoo.We're splitting hairs now.But this song definitely has the "power" of a band firing creatively on all cylinders as they end the song.

Probably the best track on one of the most underrated albums of all-time. That's usually hyperbole but in this case it's just a simple fact. This is top 100 material without question.
