Geri had planned to leave the group long before she went through with it, but she was going to work through the remainder of their tour before she left. However, due to some differences in opinions (and as Geri put, the straw that broke the camel's back was her not being allowed to make an appearance to discuss breast cancer awareness by herself), she decided to leave the group prematurely and disappeared. If anything, "Viva Forever" is ironic, because Geri speaks both English and Spanish.

@Paterbubi Ah, that's right. Thank you for pointing that out. It was written and recorded while Geri was still around but not released as a single or a music video until after she left. Either way, amazing song!

@evilgreenranger1 Viva Forever wasn't a tribute for Geri.I'm sure and that's why: Thay recorded this song in 1997 and then no one imagined that Geri was leaving next year.When they recorded the song,I think that Geri didn't know it too

I love everything about this song. The guitar at the beginning gives me goosebumps everytime---it is so beautiful. I do prefer the old instrumental part in the middle of the song compared to the dancing, it gives that latinish guitar its chance to shine! But onto the girls! I love Posh and Sporty! They stole this for me! Truly a beautiful song that I never get tired of listening to! Spice Girls Forever!
