My personal thoughts are that the swedes makes the best metal and hard rock songs while finland does the best death and melodic metal. Children of bodom is a great example of an awesome melodic/death metalband from finland.

Well I guess nordic and russia are big on melodeath because of the slavic thinking way (well mostly finns and russians). Anyway you got a point in that. We cant really say a country is king of metal, beucase f.e. we couldn't ever know all bands in the country, and many people think of only 1 band and make their opinions based on that.
