Sorry but You have not idea about Balts and Slavic at all ... What is in my knowledge that Balts settled down in Baltic Sea area about 2 000 years ago and they were co-existed with finnougric people then Balts took from them dāina ( this kinf of sing ) . And then Slavic they came after Balts circa 5-7 century and they took from Balts this kind of folk

You right Sauluis . Typival daina come from baltic tribes . We were first sing daīna before Slavic because baltic culture is older than slavic .. Anyway Slavic ( Prussians Latvians and Lithuanians ) and they very close to Balts ( Prussians Latvians and Lithuanians ) By the way propably daina come frome finno- ugric Saami because they were original in Northern East Europe and ther "joik " is a bit simillar . Oh yes, I know them:D Also Veronika Povilionienė sounds very close to this. Check out "Veronika Povilionienė - Leliumoj" ...it's just perfect for me! I must say that lithuanian folk sounds a bit similar to my national folk. For example I noticed that you say "doina" to song...we say "doina" too. That's perhaps a small connection between us indo-european...dunno. Anyway, I am absolutely inlove with Lithuanian traditional music.
