I always saw this as a quintessentially Vietnam song, even though it can be read as a female put-down. When Grace sings, "When the truth is found/To be lies, And all the joy/Within you dies", and, "Your mind, your mind/Is so full of red", and, "Your friends baby/Treat you like a guest", it sounds like she's singing about a Vet with PTSD. I know not all the lyrics fit, but I'm just putting it out there...
