I was 12..My mind went on a frenzy, I needed to know who was playing this song. I couldn't move and was paralyzed with sonic bliss. When the frequencies stopped, the DJ announced, 'that was .. NIRVANA with their latest single Smells Like Teen Spirit, from the album NEVERMIND'. NIRVANA, i kept on repeating, NIRVANA don't forget that name, i told myself..."n.i.r.v.a.n.a".

I made a promise to myself to save up all my allowance money to go and get 'NIRVANA's NEVERMIND'.

You see... YouTube was probably still a bunch of codes, and the only web that I knew was the webs of 'Fighting Spiders' that I used to catch. My record store was the 'Pasar Malam' at Jln Permas Satu, RM9.90 for one cassette.To me, it was like RM100.00 and it took a long time to get to RM9.90. I always wanted to play this song, but I was always shy about it, it was the SONG ya know... Why play a song that is perfect. Kurt hated this song (due to its popularity), so it was not cool to play this song, it meant that you didn't know other cooler Nirvana songs. You were the 'i only know this song from Nirvana kinda of person'. I didn't want to be that. I was a fan.

Then i thought F*&K IT!

I wanna cover this song, cause i like it. Its the best 4 chord song ever. And you know what... if the 12 year old Rithan knew that the future Rithan could rock out to this song, he would be sooooooo proud. :)=™

This is for the person who inspired me. Rest In Peace, Kurt Cobain. We miss you.
