Interesting that Greg Errico, the drummer for Sly on this track, left the group to play with Santana in 1971 when they recorded No One To Depend On. Wonder if that explains the similarities.

@cheifguggletram so funny you said that..being that they both came from the same circuit (SF-Bay Area), I always wondered if that was a musical nod from Santana to Sly. when I first heard this as a kid, that always wondered what the story was behind the "Evil Ways" tune w/ "Aint Got Nobody"..this is my jam!!! I have this on wax..Sly in San Francisco on Springboard records....I believe this was a 7inch on a local label pre Epic days..

Reminds me on No One To Depend On by Santana with the "I ain't got nobody", or should I say Santana's song reminds me of this, as this came first.
