I love this song, I was 9 years old when I swapped a Bay city rollers 7" single for this whole wonderful L.P., what a result,lol, listened to this track forever, just loved it, and, you know what, now a half of my life is almost past, I love it even more, so, thank you John Sebastian and thank you Noddy and Slade for this particular version, love it.

I have this LP, together with an ink biro inscription on the outer sleeve from a school sweetheart at aged 14 (Jan, where are you now lovely............. oh, the memories and the innocent love :-) Slade used to play regularly upon an island called Arran off the west coast of Scotland and are always remembered locally. This song was typical of their act although not quite what their success was remembered for. I would think it was one of the band's most precious favourites :-)

Cats Like Plain Crisps

In his autobiography Noddy said he'd been drinking all day prior to recording this album (it was recorded live in a large studio with 200 people in attendance) which is why he did the huge burp (4:19).The producer left it in because Noddy said it sounded brilliant. When Slade did the song in concert after this album came out, people were disappointed if he didn't attempt to replicate the burp!
