It's Christmas Eve and once again I'm listening to this mighty gem form 80s Slade. It's been a great Christmas Eve so far with it being a Saturday, The Muppet Christmas Carol, reunion with my great mates from years ago and my beautiful girls. Have a great Christmas you Slade fans...... it's only just begun! LLTMS!!

Love this song more every time I hear it. Pure pop/rock music, catchy, uplifting, great hook line, great vocals, plenty of guts and dripping with melody and all instruments can be heard....perfect in every way. Never mind a 'like' button - where is the 'bloody adore this song' button? LLTMS!!

@carlphone Ofcourse a mix would be even better but all the times I saw Slade I always wanted to leave the auditorium feeling uplifted and optimistic for the future and re-charged until the next one, which I always did. Would dearly love to go back in time to see the Slade Alive shows and the first time I ever got to see them in 77 Hey Carlphone, don't get me started or i'll be here all night!! Long live The Mighty Slade !!

@carlphone Hold on there..... I love Kill Em At The Hot Club Tonight, absolutely love it. When I bought Skweeze Me Pleeze Me I played the B side and drove everybody mad telling them how brilliant it was. That being said If I had to choose between a Slade show where they played their most raucous, uplifting, melodic, riff heavy monsters and their less well known subtle but brilliant oddities like Kill Em, Here's To the New Year, Do You Want Me, Candidate etc I'd always go for the monster tracks.

@carlphone Actually, "We really gonna raise the roof" and "My town" are real growers for me, in this particular style of "The Whole World etc......

I was hooked on Slade ever since Run Runaway was released in the states. The guitar sound they use, the vibratto, harmonies, and the melodic bass all make Slade worth the listen! Most of my friends roll their eyes when I mention Slade. Simply because they know of the couple top 40 tunes released, but they shun me and Slade because they never were a Zepplin or Kiss. Personally, I dont give a rats ass what they think. KOR!!!!! SLADE ALIVE for ETERNITY!!!!!

@StillBowling4Dollars Exactly my words, no band today, or even in the past, comes even close to the number of REAL catchy tunes Slade created, and their versatility in many popstyles. For the last two years I have been listening to Slade albums and it amazes me that not many people think what we think... Slade are one of the best and most versatile bands ever. Thank you for your comment, cheers!!!

@carlphone TRS is an instant winner as an album track mainly because of the blended vocals, just imagine an extended version of the acapella vocal at the end, just Nod's, Jim's, Dave's and yes even Don's voices in perfect harmony taking even The Mighty Slade down an alley not often explored by them. For a while, until Still The Same registered, I thought this was the stand-out track of the album. Indeed, for a short while this was my favourite Slade album.

Thank heavens Slade had a resurgence in the 80s. A perfect antidote to the plastic, putrid pop of the era. A shining example of how to mix song construction, melody, guts, execution and a glorious hook line. Sheer genius. You boyz made a big glorious noize and now you are needed more than ever!!!! LLTMS!!

@bigmagic96 This IS genius. What do you think of Roaring Silence? When I first heard it, I did not believe my ears, really!!! So unique! And it was not even uploaded here! A complete anthem in the form of a popsong! Superlatives are too little to describe the quality of these songs. I have read that in the eighties, Jim took over about all the production. Imagine what they would fetch for just one world tour. Tens of Mio s maybe. But it is like they have never really cared about the money.

I'll never tire of hearing this piece of song-writing genius!!! Saw the great Slade line-up 10/11 times. If they ever agreed to one more gig this would be my choice for the final encore........ and it would last half an hour !!!!!! :)
