I'm from Toronto and I remember '12 when I was telling bare people to fuck with grime and half of them were saying its shit the drake shouted out skeppy and people started to fuck with it a bit. It's still not heavy here, but give it 5-10 years and it's gonna be around heavy. I hope it doesn't go to sub culture under hip hop. Would be mad if comes to fruition and stays true in an American scene tbh. LOTM clashes like URL rap battles would be a mad ting.

Grime will only be truly global when it stops being internally divided. yes hip-hop thrived through internal conflict within the genre but to make grime relatable to a wider audience it needs to stop bitching about its self ie one mc having ago at another.

GRIME HAS BEEN MY LIFE SINCE I TURNED YEAR 7, FINDING OUT ABOUT MORE FIRE CREW AND SKEPTA (D.T.I). SEEING GRIME IN NEY YORK CAN ONLY SHOW POSITIVES TO THE CULTURE. THE AMERICANS THINK WERE COOL AND WE SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THAT, INSTEAD OF SLAGGING THEM OFF. RESPECT TO BBK AND ALL THE STRUGGLERS STILL GOING I.E SLEW DEM .

Shout out to Skeppy, but I can't say I fully understand why some grime MCs are concerned with "breaking" another country; make good music, and, of course, push it forward, and if it's good, or if others are feeling it, then it'll blow internationally, the same way hip-hop did. People can't deny quality.
