Love to see the power of reggae music shared and celebrated. Buju is one phenomenal poet who happens to speak to music. Respect to Sinead

Of course Buju version is better but she was able to spread the message to another audience who might not be exposed to Buju.

Don't like the music if you want, but your comment couldn't be any more ignorant. This album was produced by Sly & Robbie, recorded in Jamaica and all the musicians on the recordings except Sinead are Jamaican. She's done an entire album in tribute to Jamaican greats, performed and toured stages with these same artists.. Literally - if Burning Spear himself is happy to perform these songs on stage with her, then who are you to question it's validity?? A very ignorant person - that's who.

@jahluva2000 I quite agree Buju banton'svoice is unique. this just does not sound right. She needs to get some origionality. Big up Buju, Raggamuffin Soldier!!. Load 'em up Gargamel !!!!!!!!

@jahluva I did say it was an odd up mixed accent. If people like it then so be it....each to their own. People like different things and that is the beauty of mankind. I am sure that most people know that this isn't her song. Remember where the royalities go to...the original artist!!

I don't know how people think this is good. She steals awesome songs from black reggae artisit, and has the nerve to sing them and put them on an album..like it's her work! Terrible..And U still can';t sing Sinead!

@FrankLeach Agreed this album is awesome-not Irish content, though she is- these are JA songs. Yet so few seem to know it! I have this on rotation for years. Sinead's talent is boundless.

growin up the irish and jamaicans immigrants always lived in the same areas and were hated by the english. Seems natural 4 her to know that struggle and feel bujus lyrics. I like it! Odd hearin an irish jamaican accent though!!

@FrankLeach I'm not sure i would call it an 'Irish' album - Sure Sinead is Irish but at least 5 of the songs on that album were originally by 'Burning Spear' and (as far as I can tell) the rest are cover versions as well. Doesn't stop me from loving this album though :)
