This movie (The New Guy) Originally came to Good Charlotte to write the leading song for the movie. After hearing "Little Things" in 2000 or 2001 they quickly contacted Good Charlotte's manager & was like "We want another loser anthem! Something that sounds just like little things. You know? *A loser anthem*." So Good Charlotte took on the assignment & wrote "The Anthem" for The New Guy. They sent it back to the movie producers & they did not really like it. They had other options & decided to go with Simple Plan's "Im Just a Kid" instead. Good Charlotte was a little ticked off that they spent all this time and went out of their way to write this song just for this movie... so they ended up tweaking it a bit & put it on their next album. Thus becoming the first song written for 2002's The Young & The Hopeless. :)THE MORE YOU KNOW.
