Of course it wouldn't have flopped. Fans worldwide were waiting for a new S&G album, and the material on Hearts & Bones is good enough to have pleased the crowds who wanted to hear both men sing. As a solely PS release, Hearts & Bones flopped hugely. Never before had Paul had such terrible sales figures. Apparently his 'momentum' as a popular artist was gone. His generation was busy raising kids. Popular music was into post-punk, new wave, disco, Adam Ant, and synth pop. Three years later...

Love these guys, but they don't seem to be singing that great together here. I really wonder what would have happened if "Hearts and Bones" had been released as an S&G album. Flop??
